Gadap, on the outskirts of Karachi, is home to Afghan refugee families who have settled here over several decades. During periods of heavy rain, large parts of the settlement are regularly flooded, turning streets into waterways and making daily life even more difficult. These photographs were made in the aftermath of severe flooding. While homes, roads and basic services were affected, life continued. Children played in the water, families adapted to changing conditions and residents carried on with their daily routines. The series documents a community living with displacement, poverty and recurring environmental challenges, while revealing the resilience and ordinary moments that persist despite them.
